What is the storage limit on Magic Pages?
Last updated: 05 January 2024
Magic Pages doesn't have a storage limit, like classic web hosting. You do not pay for x GB of space on a hard drive, but for a Ghost CMS website.
That said, storage on a server is also not available in an unlimited quantity. Magic Pages therefore operate on a fair-use policy.
So, what does that mean practically?
Practically, you will not encounter any issues with uploading files, no matter whether you upload a 20kb png file or a 2GB video recording.
However, Magic Pages is intended for running a Ghost website. You can upload any images, audio, video, and other files that you integrate into your publications with Ghost.
You should not use Magic Pages if you upload files to then be used somewhere else – e.g. as an alternative to Google Drive or other file hosters.
If I notice a behaviour that suggests you might be violating this fair-use policy, I will reach out to discuss this. Should I not hear back from you after contacting you 3 times, I reserve the right to take your website offline, until this is resolved.
In addition, please keep in mind what a fair-use policy means: everybody benefits from it, if everybody uses the resources fairly. Should you plan to host extensive data on Magic Pages (e.g. upload a few GBs of videos every other week), let me know, and we'll set up a custom plan that takes your storage usage into account.
