Newsletter Section For The Kyiv Theme
Last updated: 12 October 2023
In this tutorial where we'll discuss how to enhance your website using the Kyiv Ghost theme for Magic Pages customers.
You can find the finished site on the theme's demo website: https://kyiv.magicpages.co/
The newsletter section in the Kyiv theme is pretty straightforward, yet it holds great power. This is because it uses the Ghost membership functionality. If you're unfamiliar, this means that within your Magic Pages subscription, there's an option where people can become members of your platform.
And once a visitor becomes a member, you have the ability to send them email newsletters. If you're a Magic Pages customer, you can send up to 10,000 newsletters every month (early bird customers can send up to 20,000).
How Does It Work?
When someone enters their email address in the newsletter form on your home page and clicks the "Subscribe Now" button, they get added to your members' list (after they have confirmed their email address).
Why is this great?
- List Building: It's similar to using tools like ConvertKit, MailChimp, and Beehive. You're building an email list – one of the most valuable assets you have as a small business owner, service provider, or content creator.
- Simplicity: Yes, Ghost newsletters aren't as powerful as ConvertKit & Co. You can't setup automations and many other things. While some might view it as a limitation, its simplicity is actually its strength for many, who are just starting out. No overwhelm – just create a post and send it as a newsletter to your list.
Customising the Newsletter Section
Customisation of the newsletter section on your home page is key for engaging your visitors. The Kyiv theme allows you to:
- Set a title: This is the headline that attracts readers. It should be catchy and relevant to the content you plan to send.
- Add a subtitle: This can be a brief description or a teaser to entice visitors to sign up.
All these customisation are accessible right in the design settings. Just scroll a bit, and you'll find the settings for both title and subtitle. Adjust them to fit your brand and messaging, and voila, you're set!
