Possibility to download full backups through the customer portal

Update, 25 September 2024: As of today, the functionality to download and generate both content and database backups is available in the customer portal.
Every day at 2:00am (CEST), Magic Pages creates an automatic backup of Ghost's content folder, as well as the underlying MySQL database. These backups can be downloaded with one click.
Additionally, you can also create manual backups (either for the content folder, the database, or both). For manual backups you will receive an email notification when they are available. This can take anywhere from a minute to an hour, depending on the size of you backups.
By implemting this, Magic Pages is the only Ghost CMS hosting provider that provides direct access to backups. While this might seem like a small detail, it underlines Magic Pages's philosophy of being open and transparent, without vendor lock-in.
Unfortunately, Ghost itself does not have a built-in backup functionality. There is the option to export and import posts and settings, but this does not include uploaded media (images, files, etc.), newsletter analytics, etc., since these are all stored in the database powering Ghost.
Currently, Magic Pages customers can always reach out to help@magicpages.co to request a full backup of their site. Going forward, this functionality should be included directly in the customer portal, allowing customers to always have access to backups.
